Independence

Independence and the no-sell rule.

The Association is an invitation-only peer network for executives accountable for AI. It exists for its members, not to sell them anything. No one pays to be in the room, and no one is sold to once they are.

The pledge

What we don't do.

Almost every group that gathers AI executives is paid for by someone selling something. A consultancy wants the engagement, a vendor wants the platform deal, an event firm wants the sponsor money. That money shapes the room, usually toward whoever is paying. We work the other way, by published rule:

  • No vendor, consultancy, or sponsor pays for a seat or sits in the room.
  • We never pitch you. No member is solicited for our consulting work, in the room or after it.
  • Members don't sell to each other either.
  • What you say is never attributed to you and never sold. Only anonymized, aggregated patterns leave the room, to build the benchmark and the Institute's research.
  • Membership is free for the founding cohort, and nothing is sold inside it.
  • If we ever break this, call it out and walk.

We also run a separate consulting practice. Being in these rooms shapes how we think about AI in the enterprise, and that is the point; it is the same understanding the consulting work draws on. What stays fixed is the conduct: no member is pitched or solicited, membership never becomes a sales list, and if a member ever works with us there, it's a conversation they start on their own, outside this room.

How the room works

What's said in the room stays there.

Roundtables run under the Chatham House Rule. You can use what you hear, but you can't attribute it to any person or company. People speak plainly because nothing they say leaves the room with their name on it. We never publish the attendee list, and anything that informs a quarterly briefing is anonymized and aggregated first.

There is no seat to buy and no agenda slot for sale. The agenda is the problem the members in the room actually have, set by them, not by a sponsor.

Association for Executive AI Leadership EAIL

Judge us by the rules, then by the room.

The rules above are the standard we hold ourselves to. If you think we crossed one, tell us and we'll fix it.
